📣 This Week's Event Details

🍗 Tuesday, 6/9: BBQ Pit Fundraiser & 13+ Teen Swim Party

• The Fundraiser: Take a night off from cooking! Dine in or get takeout at the BBQ Pit to support our local business sponsor and raise money for the Sharks. Just show or bring the attached flyer when you order.
• The Teen Party (7:00–9:00 PM): All swimmers ages 13+ are invited to head over to the Toolson House (1305 Pernich Ct.) right after grabbing dinner at the BBQ Pit! We’ll have sweet treats, the pool open, and fun hangout activities. Contact Carrie with any questions.

🛶 Thursday, 6/11: The Cardboard Regatta (5:30–7:30 PM)

This is hands-down the most anticipated, hilarious, and exciting event of the summer! Swimmers build boats to race across the pool. More info about this event can be found here.

• The Rules: Boats may ONLY be made out of cardboard and duct tape. No glue, styrofoam, paint, or other tape allowed. (No kickboard boats this year!)
• Teams: Swimmers can race solo, with a buddy, or in a group. Sign up on the pool bulletin board and start building!
• Timeline:
  • 5:30–6:30 PM: Arrive, bring your own family dinner/lawn chairs, and line up boats on the pool deck.
  • 6:30 PM: Boat races begin by heat/age group! Awards will be given for fastest times, best design, and the "most dramatic sinking."
• Clean-Up Note: Waterlogged cardboard leaves a massive mess. Every family is responsible for taking their entire boat home. Pro-Tip: Bring large, heavy-duty trash bags to transport your wet cardboard!

🃏 Saturday, 6/13: Dad’s Poker Night (6:00 PM)

• Location: The Angelovich House, 1263 Chrismara Court, 95120
• The Details: Tournament-style play ($20 buy-in with 1 re-buy) plus a consolation table.
• Food & Drink: Marc will provide snacks and drinks (fair warning: "Marc’s house is a bourbon house!"). Feel free to chip in and bring your own favorite snacks/drinks.
• Action Item: Please RSVP on Swimtopia by Wednesday so Marc can get an accurate head count.

🍦 Sunday, 6/14: Team Pictures & Root Beer Floats (10:30 AM–12:00 PM)

We will be providing Root Beer Floats to all of our awesome swimmers right after the whole team picture!

• Volunteer Opportunity: We need hands to help pour soda and scoop ice cream. If you can help, please let Danielle know or sign up on Swimtopia!

🎢 Tuesday, 6/16: Santa Cruz Boardwalk Discount Night (6:00–9:00 PM)

• How to join: Wear your Sharks gear! We will meet up around 6:00 PM at the ticket booth (it's totally fine to buy your tickets right when you arrive). Use the team WhatsApp group to coordinate and find each other.

💦 Thursday, 6/18: Teen Swim Party #2

All swimmers ages 13+ are invited to head over to the Mendonca House (1143 Rugby Court) for a 13 and older only swim party! We’ll have pizza, chips, and dessert. 

🎬 Tuesday, 6/23: Team Movie Day: Toy Story 5 (2:20 PM)

Join your fellow Oaktree Sharks for a fun day at the movies! Purchase your tickets NOW for the 2:20 PM showing of Toy Story 5 at the Oakridge Theaters. [Buy Tickets Now!] Don't forget to wear your Sharks gear so we can take a picture together after the movie.

🌮 Thursday, 6/25: Taco and BINGO Night

• Cost: $15 per person (swimmers and non-swimmers) covers food and games
• Schedule: Tacos first (and free swim from 5:30–7:00 PM) … followed by BINGO and prizes. Everyone is welcome to bring your own beverages.
• Payment: You can Zelle Oaktree (please put “Taco Night” in the memo) or bring cash.
• Action Item: Please RSVP on Swimtopia so we can get an accurate food count!
