Eric swam for Oaktree for 6 years starting back in good old 1997, until he aged out in 2003. He is attending Arizona State University to receive a Masters Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis where he is studying to become a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst. His hobbies include spending time with his family, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, watching funny movies, and going to 49er games. This will be his 9th season involved as a coach for the Oaktree Sharks.
Hey everyone! My name is Andrew and I swam for Oaktree for 12 years starting in 2006 until 2018 where I aged out. I was a Junior Coach for Oaktree for two years in 2016 and 2017, and became an assistant coach for the 2018 and 2019 swim seasons. I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in December of 2023 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Education. I currently possess a single subject teaching credential with a focus in English and am teaching full-time. Some of my hobbies are sharing a good meal with family and friends, hiking, swimming, cheering on the Golden State Warriors, and of course, swimming. I look forward to seeing new and familiar faces on the pool deck this summer! Go Oaktree!
Hello everyone my name is Arthur Hoang and I am a new Assistant Coach for the Oak Tree Sharks. I have a long history of swimming: I started year round swimming in the 4th grade at West Coast Aquatics, in the 6th grade I moved to Mission San Jose Aquatics ( currently East Bay Aquatics). In the summer of 8th grade I started teaching swim lessons with Swim America and continued to teach during the summers until Swim America closed during my second year of college. I’ve coached the Swim Americas’ summer team and eventually I helped coach some of the MSJA/ EBA year round swimmers. I graduated from San Jose State with a Bachelors in Nursing, my day job is a school nurse. Fun fact: I actually work with Coach Eric at Del Mar High School. Some of my hobbies include: Magic the Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, spending time with friends, and Brazilian Zouk ( social dancing)
Hi! My name is Talya and I've been an Oaktree shark for the past 6 years and junior coach for 3 years and I am so excited to be an assistant coach this year! I'll be graduating from Pioneer this May and will be studying biochemistry on the pre-med track in college this fall. Throughout high school I played on the Pioneer Girls' Water Polo Team, Soccer team, Track and Field Team, and Swim Team and ran a Beach Cleanup Club. I've spent over 200 hours volunteering as a coach or teacher, whether that's in an orchestra classroom, pool, soccer field, or science camp, so I am thrilled to continue my love for coaching this summer at Oaktree. In my free time I love going to the beach, spending time with friends and family, playing water polo and soccer, going to concerts and of course swimming! I can't wait to be on deck this summer and see both new and returning swimmers!
