Updates week of 5/3
May 3rd
It has been a great first week of practice!
- Thank you Eric, Andrew, Talya, and Arthur for welcoming all of the families and new swimmers and helping everyone feel comfortable and excited at the pool.
- Parking and Traffic around the pool
I can't stress enough how important it is to drive slowly and obey all traffic rules around the pool and in the neighborhood. We are guests at the pool and need to be kind and considerate to the families who live in the neighborhood.
- 1. Do not stop or park in any red zones. We have already had several cars reported parked in red zones.
- 2. Follow speed limits and traffic laws in and around the neighborhood.
- 3. Please park down the street and walk up to get your swimmer. Do not stop in front of the pool, or in the middle of the 2 adjoining streets to wait for your swimmer, (unless you are in a parking spot).
- 4. No double parking, no stopping in red zones, and no blocking driveways, even for quick drop-offs near the main gate.
- Thank you for keeping the swimmers and neighborhood safe!
- Pool cleanliness Help us keep the pool deck clean by picking up all of your trash and belongings after each practice. Help the coaches by closing the umbrellas after use. Check the lost and found bin located outside the boys' bathroom frequently. Items will be disposed of regularly. And if you want items to be returned, make sure your swimmer's name is on them!
- Swim Caps a. You can get one at the pool for $12 b. You can order a personalized set of 2 caps for $30 using this link: Personalized Cap order Orders are due this Saturday 5/9. Orders will take 2-4 weeks for delivery.

- When you RSVP your child for a meet you can write a note to the coach. You may not request that your swimmer swim in certain events. The coaches ensure all swimmers participate in all events throughout the season. They might place your swimmer in a stroke that is not their strongest because they believe it will improve their time (which gets us just as many points as placement points) or because they need a swimmer in that stroke. You may write a quick note to the coach about needing to arrive or leave at a certain time. This helps them create the meeting schedule. For example, Jacob needs to leave by 12:00. The coaches will see that and not put him in freestyle or the free relay. Below is a screenshot of where you can write your note when you click on edit for the meet entry.
- Last day to drop the team is 5/5. Contact Liz directly at [email protected]
- Sharks Kick Off Party 5/21 5:30-7:30 Come meet our sharks swim team and families! Bring your own dinner for a picnic at the pool. Swimmers will find out who their buddies are. There will be free swim from 5:30-6:30. If you have sharks swim gear that no longer fits your swimmer, please bring it to hand down to a younger swimmer.
- Magnetic boards needed We have 3 bulletin boards that we hang at the pool. 1 for events by the girls bathroom, and 2 by the boys bathroom for meet events and meet results. Ours have warped over the years and we need new ones. I would love magnetic boards so we can use magnets instead of push pins for safety on the pool deck. If anyone would like to make these boards for the team we would really appreciate it! We will need 3 boards, each 3ft. x 4ft. They need to be galvanized steel to hold up year after year in the outdoor elements. If you are interested in making these for the team please contact Adam Westgate at [email protected]. Thank you!
- Practice this week Monday through Friday:

- 4:45-5:30 9/10 and 11/12
- 5:30-6:30 13/14 and 15/18
- Have a great week!
~ Liz
