June 29th

Hi, 

We had a great swim meet yesterday! Thank you all for your help volunteering to make the meet run so smoothly. The final score was Belwood 119 and Oaktree 93. It was exciting to see how their time drops wireless electronic timing system worked. 

Race results will be posted to the left of the boys bathroom. They are also uploaded on Swimtopia and will show up under your swimmer's name, as well as whole team results posted under the swim meet results tab. 


VOLUNTEERING AND RSVPs are open for our dual meet on 7/12 at Oaktree. This is due by Monday 6/30 night. Reminder: This is a team sport and we need everyone in attendance to help us win!

  Coaches and Jr. Coaches gifts: 

This is the last week to get Fiona your coach gift donation! 
Our coches give it their all! They have done a phenomenal job this season and have many more weeks to continue to help your swimmer's improve. Our coaches this year are Head coach Eric, Assistant coaches Andrew, Melanie, Lexi and Molly. They are ALL previous Oaktree swimmers and have really brought their knowledge, love for the team, and expertise to the team this year. We have 16 wonderful jr. coaches this year in the water with our 6 and unders and 7/8 swimmers. They have also been able to help our 9/10s a few times. They are imperative to getting our kids swimming better! They are the hands on help the kids need. The coaches definitely work extremely hard for our kids. 
We like to thank them with a generous gift from the parents at the end of the season. Since this takes time for Fiona to create, we are asking now for the donations. We are asking for a $50 donation per swimmer. This will go to ALL of our coaches as a huge thank you for their time, energy, and dedication to our team. You can venmo Fiona (FionaEh), or Apply Pay (408-398-8505) or get her cash by the end of June. Along with our donation to the coaches Fiona always makes a wonderful handcrafted gift for each coach that we will present to them at awards night. Thank you for helping us show our appreciation to the coaches. 

Upcoming events:
  • 6/30- Improved Time lollipops- We have a tradition at Oaktree that when the swimmers pick up their ribbons on Mondays after a meet, they will get a lollipop for every improved time. Remember our league not only counts top finishers for points, but EVERY improved time gains our teams points! If you are interested in knowing the scoring for a meet it is explained on our website under the scoring description tab. Lollipops and ribbons will be picked up AFTER swimmers' practice on Monday.

  • 7/1 Stroke and Turn $25 12:00-1:00 RSVP on Swimtopia
  • 7/2 Free swim afternoon 2:00-4:00 at Oaktree
  • 7/3 Bring a Tshirt Starting the week of June 9th. 9/10, 11/12, 13/14 and 15/18 swimmers should bring an extra t-shirt and towel to practice on Thursdays. Thursdays will focus on dry land exercises and building leg strength— to be gained by wearing a t-shirt while doing kicking sets.

Practice Every weekday June 3-July 18th

8:15-9:15 6u and 7/8

9:15-10:15 9/10 and 11/12

10:15-11:45 13/14 and 15/18

Private Lessons and Stroke and Turn:

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 12:00-12:30 or 12:30-1:00 for $35 per swimmer per 30 minutes during summer we will offer private lessons with our coaches. For liability and insurance we need you to book the dates and times with the coaches BUT pay via zelle or cash to the team at [email protected]

Every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00-1:00 we will offer small group instruction via stroke and turn lessons. For liability and insurance we need you to RSVP through swimtopia and pay via Zelle or cash to the team at [email protected] These will max out at 40 swimmers per day. Please see dates on swimtopia and RSVP if interested in going!

Coaches will work on any strokes, turns, dives or individual swimmer needs for all of private lessons or stroke and turn lessons.

Oaktree Gear:

  • Swim Caps- You can still purchase the silicone Oaktree Sharks caps from the team during practice, swim meets or team events. They are $12 a cap and you can pay with cash or Zelle.
  • Yard Signs- I have yard signs for purchase! They are $10 and you can ask me anytime to get you one! I can even leave it with the coaches for you, if I am not at practice.
  • Oaktree Baseball hats- I also have black baseball hats for sale. Let me know if you are interested and I can pull them out for you. I believe we have 2 styles. $10 each.
