Meet Reminders 6/28
Hi,
Our meet tomorrow is at Belwood
100 Belwood Gateway, Los Gatos, CA 95032
They have a large grass area and plenty of room for everyone's easy ups. See specific Belwood info below.
The schedule is as follows:
- 6:30 Pool Opens
- 6:45-7:15 Swimmer and Volunteer Check in
- 7:15 CHECK IN CLOSES
- 7:15-7:40 Belwood warm ups
- 7:40-8:05 Oaktree warm ups
- 8:00 First Shift volunteers report to stations
- 8:15 Meet starts
Parent Relay:
We will have a parent relay at the end of the meet while the scores are being tallied. Any parent who wants to participate is welcome! It is usually a free relay and parents can do a 25 or a 50. We figure all the logistics out once we know how many swimmers we have. So grab your suit and goggles and join in on the fun! Find Adam and let him know you want to swim.
Event numbers:
Your child will get their race numbers written on their hand when they check in. They need to report to the clerk of the course about 3-5 events prior to their number. EX: they swim event 35, they should report to the clerk of the course at event 30-32. The event board will be next to the computer table.
Buddies:
You are welcome to bring a small gift for your buddy ($5-$10 ). Buddy list is posted next to the girls bathroom on our event board. Please cheer on your big buddy and your little buddy.
Parents:
Parents you can drop your child off at the clerk of the course, but please do not walk with them to the blocks. There will be jr. coaches and big buddies there to help them. The area behind the blocks is closed off to traffic, its just too crowded. Parents you can meet your swimmers at the end of the pool with their towel. Please make sure you stay out of the timer’s way so that they can accurately get your swimmer’s time. They will help your swimmer out of the water.
When your swimmer checks in you can grab your child’s event numbers that will be on a label. You can put this label on the back of your name tag to help you remember what their events are. Each meet we will have new event labels for you!
Parking:
Please be respectful of the neighborhood and do not block driveways or park in front of fire hydrants. See more info about thier updated parking lot below.
What to bring:
It will be cool in the morning and then warm up in the afternoon and your child will be swimming 3-4 events. It is supposed to be a warm day! Bring lots of extra towels-they will most likely not dry out in between races. It's always good to bring extra goggles and a cap in case they get lost or break between events. Bring lots of healthy snacks for your swimmer- they get hungry!
Belwood info:Our Belwood Baitshop snack bar will be open, accepting both cash and Venmo. This year we will be serving breakfast burritos, donuts, onigiri, burgers, hot dogs and much more! We're also planning coaches and parents relays, if any of your parents want to bring their suits and cool off and swim after the meet.
We do have a new timing system this year–Time Drops–which families have enjoyed so far. It's similar to the plunger system we use at Champs, but small buttons you wear on a lanyard around your neck. Parents can also keep track of the races in real-time via the Time Drops Live! app.

It’s pretty cool, and I’d imagine helpful for any parents who might have to leave the meet or anyone trying to juggle getting back to the meet from another activity. We’ll post the meet PIN number on Saturday for anyone who wants to follow along on their devices. You can share the app link ahead of time with your families if you’d like.
Parking Update - Please Review
Change has come to the pool parking lot. The Belwood HOA re-surfaced and re-striped the parking lot at the cabana last summer, and we ask that you take extra care when driving into the facility. The first change you will immediately notice is that the direction of traffic has been reversed. You will now enter the lot where you once exited. It may take a few times to get it right but look for the arrows indicating path of travel and the DO NOT ENTER / WRONG WAY sign at the exit side of the lot. Those traveling from Blossom Hill Road will need to make a u-turn at Belblossom Way to enter the lot but we have tested it out and even the largest SUV can make the turn. You may also take a different path of entry (Belgatos Road or Harwood Road) to get to the pool.
One other request to make it easier on swim meet days, please do not park in the 3-way intersection of Belwood Gateway. This may make it more difficult for some to make the u-turn. We'll do our best to cone off the area in question to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow during peak times.
Finally, the handicapped stalls have been re-striped and now include proper signage for both stalls as well as a walking path of travel from the street to the cabana gate to make it safer for pedestrians entering from the street. Please do not use these spots for parking, loading or unloading unless you are displaying the appropriate placard.
I'll see you tomorrow bright and early!
~Liz
